CLINICAL REVIEW

Our clinical reviewers

Licensed clinicians read our guides and infographics before they're marked as reviewed. Each reviewed page names the person who checked it and the date.

How we choose reviewers

Every reviewer holds an active license in their field. Before we list anyone, we look up their license on the official state board or national lookup, and each profile links to that lookup so you can check it too. We don't show license numbers.

Reviewers agree to be named. They review on their own professional judgment, and they can ask for changes before they approve anything.

What a clinical review checks

  1. The facts match current guidance. Each health claim is compared with the linked source, such as the CDC, NIH, FDA, or American Heart Association.
  2. Numbers are right. Targets, ranges, and cutoffs are correct and up to date.
  3. Safety comes first. The guide says clearly when to call a provider or get emergency care.
  4. It's written for real people. Plain words, about a sixth- to seventh-grade reading level, with medical terms explained.
  5. It isn't personal advice. Nothing reads like a diagnosis or tells someone to change a treatment on their own.
  6. Medicines are handled carefully. Medicine information matches the FDA label and sends readers to their prescriber or pharmacist.

How a review stays current

A review covers the exact version the reviewer read. If we edit a guide after it's approved, it goes back to "Not yet reviewed" until a reviewer checks the new version. Reviews also expire after 12 months, so every guide gets a fresh look at least once a year.
